As a photographer with Lupus, I am working on a personal 5-year project that will capture the faces of 1000 people with Lupus.
The goal of this project is to show the world that Lupus can't be seen. I believe it will also strike a chord with those that also have Lupus to feel less alone in all of it. I am hoping many people out there will see someone that either looks like them, or someone they know, bringing the reality that anyone can have this.
I want to portray each "Lupie" in whichever way they feel comfortable, from candid shots, to heavily propped, in a natural outdoor setting to an in studio setting. Preferably I would also love to have some portaits that show the struggle of Lupus. Not showing anyone at their worst, but perhaps at the doctors, the pharmacy, or even at the hospital. I will be including my own personal experiences in the project from my trips to the doctors and hospitals to be part of this as well.
