WE NEED YOUR HELP TO FUND THE MISSION FROM HOME
All of our minds are contending with uncertainties in our lives right now—like caring for our families while managing shelter-in-place orders, trying to ensure we'll have essential supplies, and staying safe.
For a moment, please consider helping the Lupus Foundation of Northern California keep our essential serivces and programs running—virtually for the foreseeable future—for the many Lupus patients, caregivers, and families that rely on support groups, wellness programs, phone services and guidance, as well as health education, resources and community advocacy.
Our online auction is helpig to raise only a portion of urgently needed funds that we normally raise in our annual gala fundraiser—which we have had to postpone. You can still help us to help those impacted by lupus, and have some fun while sheltering-in-place at home.
WE ARE HERE FOR THE LUPUS COMMUNITY
We are rapidly working to convert patient services and programs to virtual programs and activities, and will be sharing information as the programs become available online.
We are also still open to serve the lupus community—though not at our physical office. We can be reached at 408-954-8600, and at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Stay connnected with us during this time—we are and sharing important information on our social media channels and via email; and creating a COVID-19 resource landing page. We will announce once it's live.
THANK YOU for your patience while we convert programs, and for your critically needed support of the Lupus Foundation of Northern California and all of the patients and families we serve—we are ever-grateful for your contributions at this urgent time.
The Lupus Foundation of Northern California takes your health and the safety of our entire lupus community seriously, including those presenting and attending our annual charity gala. Out of concern and careful consideration of the Santa Clara County Public Health Department’s press announcement recommendation (about the Coronavirus COVID-19) to not hold large community events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our annual charity Gala—A Night in Venice Masquerade Ball and Purple Ribbon Awards—to Autumn 2020. This decision is based on our vigilance and responsibility to those in our lupus community who are at a heightened risk of exposure due to a compromised immune system.
Please note that we are postponing rather than canceling, we still wish to honor those who have dedicated so much of their life to the cause of curing lupus and supporting lupus patients in our community.
If you have already purchased a ticket, we encourage you to hold onto it as tickets will remain valid and honored at the new event date/time. Whether you have purchased your tickets or not, make sure to save-the-date for “A Night in Venice”, which will soon be announced for this Autumn. We look forward to celebrating the exemplary contributions to the lupus community as we continue to strengthen our mission to improve the lives of those living with lupus.
This Gala is our primary financial source for funding our ongoing patient services, programs, advocacy and the wide array of patient assistance we provide throughout the year. Postponing our Gala is financially challenging for us, so please consider donating now.
We realize this announcement may be disappointing, but we will soon share information about our upcoming online auction for many of the wonderful items that were going to be available at the Gala. Your participation in our online auction is critical for our patient support efforts and will allow you to still experience some of the fun that happens during the Gala! For 2020, we have really upped the ante with new items for you to bid on! We'll send the auction link and information on how to bid soon.
Thank you for your critically needed support of our Lupus Foundation of Northern California and all of the patients and families we serve—we appreciate your generosity and contributions at this unique time.
The Lupus Foundation of Northern California takes seriously the threat the Coronavirus presents to individuals living with lupus and autoimmune conditions. There is an increasing likelihood of a significant outbreak of the virus in the United States, especially here in California, and we wish to provide our community with reliable information from qualified sources.
The information provided via these links may be helpful for you or loved ones who are at heightened risk. The first is basic information and updated situation summaries from the CDC. The second link is from the Lupus Research Alliance and details information for those who have lupus, as well as linking to additional resources and information. The third is the latest recommendation from the County of Santa Clara, for residents living locally.
Please read this information carefully and contact your physician if you show signs of being ill.
