Meet the Presenter:
Dr. Sarah Goozee

Dr. Sarah Goozeé is the Vice President of Care Navigation for Boomerang Healthcare, with 15+ years of experience in the medical field treating chronic pain utilizing biopsychosocial approach. Dr. Goozeé completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Masters’ degree with an emphasis on Health Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco. She has worked in community mental health clinics and a variety of medical facilities including large HMOs since 2002.
Dr. Goozeé works with individuals with chronic pain and illnesses including fibromyalgia, arthritis and lupus since 2002. She developed the "Lupus Activity Scale (LAS)," a self-report measure that empowers patients and quantifies lupus disease activity; one of the first of its kind that is now being widely used to understand the connection of chronic pain and mood. Dr. Goozeé is former board of the Lupus Foundation of Northern California. She has presented at various workshops for the LFNC, LupusLA, and Lupus Research Institute.
Dr. Goozeé has worked in a Functional Restoration Program (FRP) as a clinical psychologist and program director utilizing cognitive behavioral strategies treating psychological factors that commonly interfere with recovery and effective pain management. Over the years, she has also served as Psychology Professor, Program Director and Dean of Academic Affairs.

Julie Viscuso is a lupus patient and our 2020 Face of Lupus. Julie has been a volunteer for the LFNC for many years, offering her expertise in leading Kundalini Yoga classes, and meditations on our Facebook live page.
